Meet Our Team
Founded by Marlene and Miguel with extensive experience working with children in various educational settings, as well as managing and mentoring teams in both Portugal and London, Ser na Floresta is set to become a leader in outdoor education in the country.
The Forest School programmes offered by Ser na Floresta prioritise the development of children's physical, emotional, and cognitive well-being through hands-on learning experiences that foster a deep connection with nature. By immersing themselves in the natural world, children are encouraged to explore, experiment, and discover their own unique interests and passions.
The founders of Ser na Floresta bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to their programmes, having worked in diverse educational settings and with a broad range of students. Their experience in managing and mentoring teams also ensures that the Forest School programmes are well-run and effective in achieving their objectives.
In addition to their extensive experience in education and team management, the founders of Ser na Floresta, Marlene and Miguel, have also taken the time to further their knowledge and experience by traveling to Asia and Oceania for four months. During their travels, they had the opportunity to visit well-known Forest Schools in Bali, Japan, and Thailand, where they learned from different cultures and experienced Forest School leaders.
This firsthand experience in other parts of the world has further enriched their understanding and approach to Forest School education, allowing them to bring a unique perspective to their programmes in Portugal. With this added knowledge and experience, Ser na Floresta is well-equipped to provide children with a world-class Forest School education that fosters a deep connection with nature and promotes holistic development.
Overall, Ser na Floresta is set to be a pioneer in outdoor education in Portugal. With experienced founders leading the way and a focus on fostering a deep connection with nature, the future looks bright for Forest School education in the country.
